Disc/Holy split

This spec is based off the fact that both holy and discipline’s end talent is underwhelming. Therefore, this build splits the two.  The split can range from 29/22 (meditation and inner fire on disc, down to Prayer of Healing on holy) to 26/25 (Improved Flash Heal and Spirit of Redemption, Inner Focus, and Improved Inner Fire/Mana Burn).

This spec tends to be a utility spec, gathering the best out of the holy and disc trees and provide great mana efficiency, though does not provide the ability to use Greater Heal efficiently (takes to long to cast, does not have improved healing ability). However, by concentrating on Flash Heal, Renew and Prayer of Healing, the priest can react very quickly to changing battle and keep multiple teammates alive at the same time.  With Meditation the priest  has a tremendous mana bar. With Improved Inner Fire and Mana Burn, the priest is better at taking damage and can provide some anti-Paladin, anti-Hunter capabilities in Player vs. Player group combat. Inner Focus is not as important with this spec as the other since casting Greater Heal is more difficult, but used with Prayer of Healing, can turn the tide of battle. Some versions of this build take focused casting in lieu of some other abilities for the ability to spam Prayer of Healing in Player versus Player or fights when the agro chain has broken down.

What the priest gives up for this, like every holy spec, is the ability  to solo.  A priest can win some specific 1on1’s, but for the most part, a holy priest might as well sit down and accept the inevitable when caught without their party.  In addition, this spec is not as healing-mana efficient as the master healer spec, and cannot heal a Main Tank as effectively, though this spec is very effective at healing tanks.
