Getting There:

Flying is about the only reasonable way to get to Whistler and you have two options for airports.

• Vancouver – Vancouver is the closest city to Whistler.
• Advantages: Vancouver is only and hour and a half from Whistler and shuttles run between the Vancouver airport and Whistler so you won’t have to rent a car and pay for parking while in Whistler.
• Disadvantages: Flights in/out of Vancouver seem to be more expensive than those in/out of Seattle. You’ll also have to go through customers at the Vancouver airport.

• Seattle – Seattle is the closets US City to Whistler.
• Advantages: Seattle flights seem to be more reasonable and you won’t have to deal with customs at the airport. The drive along the Sea-to-Sky Hwy is supposed to be incredible.
• Disadvantages: You will have to rent your own car and make the 4-5 hour drive to Whistler. You’ll have to go through a customs checkpoint at the boarder crossing, but that should only be a 20 min delay. You’ll also have to pay for parking at Whistler, which is $25 per day at The Four Seasons.

Transportation Information from the Four Seasons:

Vancouver International Airport is located approximately 2 ½-3 hours south of Whistler. Limousines, buses, car rentals and helicopters are all available and our Concierge would be delighted to assist you with your travel plans. Please note that all rates are quoted in Canadian dollars and may be subject to tax, gratuities, cancellation policies and changes. A credit card number is necessary to confirm a reservation.

Air Service

Whistler Air Services Ltd. offers chartered air services between the Vancouver International Airport and Squamish Municipal Airport during the winter months. Transfers to or from the Squamish Airport will be by Executive Van. Aircraft passenger capacity is directly related to the amount of luggage that is being transferred; however, an average figure would be 8 passengers with a suitcase and pair of skis or snowboard each. Door to door travel time is approximately 1.5 hours, and all transfers are weather dependant.

Cost: $1,195.00 + GST per flight

Take in the breathtaking scenery from Vancouver to Whistler via a 40 minute helicopter flight. Chartered flights are available from both the South Terminal of Vancouver International Airport and the downtown Vancouver/Coal Harbour areas. Luggage capacity is limited, and all flights are weather dependant. Flights are available through Blackcomb Helicopters and HeliJet. Excess luggage transfers can be arranged via taxi.

Charter rates start at $2,229.00 + GST (& fuel surcharges if applicable) Twin engine helicopters are available on request.

Limousines

If you prefer to travel in comfort and style, we suggest a luxury private car and driver for you upon your arrival in Vancouver. Sport utility vehicles, sedans, stretch limousines, vans and Limobuses can be arranged with rates varying between $350.00 and $695.00. Your driver will identify himself to you in the Arrivals area by carrying a sign with your name on it and will assist you with your luggage upon exiting through Canada Customs.

Car Rental Companies

Car rental facilities are conveniently located just steps from the terminal on the ground floor of the parkade of the Vancouver International Airport. Most companies provide vehicle pick-up and return services directly from these facilities. They include Budget Rent-a-Car, Avis Rent-a-Car, Alamo Rent-a-Car, National Car Rentals, Hertz Canada and Thrifty Car Rental. Our Concierge will be happy to provide you with driving directions to our hotel or assist you with a rental car booking. Please note that Avis Rent-a-Car is the only company with an office in Whistler.

Bus Service

Pacific Coach Lines provides an efficient motorcoach door-to-door shuttle service between Vancouver International Airport and our Resort, with 9 departures daily from YVR. International arrivals meet after luggage collection, just before exiting Canada Customs to the public area. Domestic travelers will meet at the PCL desk just opposite luggage carousel #5.

Rates are $58.00 per adult, and reservations are required. The trip takes approximately 3 hours, depending upon traffic conditions. Please contact our Concierge for further assistance or visit PCL on-line at http://www.pacificcoach.com/SkyLynx for detailed schedules.

Perimeter Transportation also provides a shuttle service between the Vancouver International Airport and Whistler with direct bus service to all major hotels. Buses depart from the Arrivals Level (Level II) of both the Domestic and International terminal buildings daily, with 11 departures in the winter, 8 departures in the spring and fall, and 5 departures in the summer. Rates are $67.00 one way per adult. Reservations are required. The trip takes approximately 3 hours, depending upon traffic conditions. Sea to Sky Highway Improvement Project

Should you decide to travel to Whistler by car, please be advised that BC’s Ministry of Transportation is undertaking ongoing improvements to the Sea-to-Sky Highway 99. It will result in some road closures and delays along the route. Please contact our concierge desk for up to date information on road closures. Where to Stay:

The Wedding Ceremony and reception will be held at The Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, B.C. We have made arrangements for a block of rooms at $260 CD per night. (This is a discount from the regular price of about $600 CD per night). If you want to extend your stay, The Four Seasons will extend the discounted rate either 3 days before or 3 days after for a maximum total of 4 nights. Any additional nights would default to the regular price.

Please also be advised that you will be asked for a credit card to hold the room and full-prepayment for your stay will be applied to your card 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel all or any part of your stay with-in the 30 days, you will be charged for the full amount.
